Yoga for Anxiety and Stress Reduction

Yoga therapy’s holistic approach connects the mind, body, breath and emotions to support recovery from anxiety caused by stressful states. Yoga therapy is holistic and supports bringing the system into balance to support mental and emotional wellness. Connecting breath and movement and breath work itself is critical in this process.

Breathwork is Essential

In yoga practice, we breath through the nose which has been proven to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. People can begin to alter and strengthen the neural pathways that link breathing with emotion regulation centers in the brain, which can help them feel calmer and more alert.

Research has shown that subtle and smooth breathing can calm someone having an anxiety attack or help people to reduce stress and improve mental clarity. Through yoga therapy, there are many tools available, including breathwork, to support you in managing anxiety and stress.

Sarah begins working with clients by performing a 90-minute health and wellness intake and a posture, strength, and flexibility assessment. She listens to the client’s goals and teaches an experiential yoga class to support stress reduction and manage anxiety.

The class includes stress-reducing techniques to support overall wellness. She prepares a plan for a home practice.

4-Week Series

Learn yoga tools to reduce stress and manage anxiety while bringing the system into balance. Work toward a daily practice for wellness.
